MY WORK:

I am a Sex Educator and a certified Sexual Assault & Violence Intervention Counselor. I write books. I speak on campuses and in community centers. I do consulting work for adult toy manufacturers and retailers. I work with print, broadcast and online media, doing interviews, features, forecasting trends in sexuality, current trends in sexuality, script reviews, production of sexuality television segments and documentary pieces. I write sexuality journalism pieces, how-to articles, and advice columns for print and online publications.

Sexual Assault & Violence Intervention Counselor / SAVI Program, 2005 – 2010
Certified by the New York Department of Health, I worked in the emergency room as a patient advocate for adult and pediatric sexual assault and domestic violence survivors. In 2007 I was part of the training team for new volunteers. I was also a member of the SAVI Speakers Bureau, specifically trained to conduct sexual assault and intimate partner violence sensitivity presentations for the New York Police Department. I also do Sexual Health and Wellness workshops for fellow SAVI advocates.

I have volunteered my services to Safe Horizons Homeless Youth Projects, The GLBT Center, Fitness Express Women’s Health & Wellness Fair, Identity Center, Lesbian Catholics of New York, The Annual Homelessness Marathon, Ali Forney Center, and university anti-violence V-Day programs.

I present at team meetings and company wide conventions, write for the their company newsletter and I also spearhead new media learning avenues such as blogging, forums, chat sessions, online video and podcasting.

Education Coordinator & Sex Educator / Babeland, 2001 – 2004
Responsible for creating the highly successful community education program entitled Babeland University. Beyond training the staff of Babeland, a national, feminist women-owned sexuality boutique, I also train educators within the company, taught workshops, created curriculum outlines, scheduled events, hired outside teachers and facilitated events.
